Trading Approach
I use volume profile to identify high-volume nodes (value areas) and low-volume nodes (rejection zones) before I ever think about a trade. These areas tell you where the market has agreed on fair value versus where it moved through quickly trade the edges of that structure, not the middle.
Once price reaches your zone of interest, I watch the DOM for absorption, exhaustion, or aggressive one-sided flow to validate that the level is actually holding. My setup tells me where to look; the tape tells me when to pull the trigger.
Before entering, I define me invalidation point and size the trade so that if I am wrong, the loss is a rounding error on me account, not a setback. If the stop distance required to respect the structure makes the risk too large for the edge I'm getting, the trade isn't "cheaper" just because it looks good it's simply not worth taking.
